From my room window. Perfectly explains why Egyptian tombs are always on the West Bank of the river - because that's where the sun "dies." The land of the living is always on the East Bank. Across the river is where the Valley of the Kings is.
Travel Day to Luxor

Another almost too easy day of travel. Left on a short flight South to Luxor (around 1 hour) from Cairo at around noon, and then at Luxor, a driver was waiting, and drove me the 15 minutes or so to the hotel, the Old Winter Palace.
