Sefrou and Azrou are south of Fez in the mid Atlas mountains. We were lucky with our timing as Azrou was in the midst of their weekly market day. The Berbers were out in full force at the market. The Romans bastardized the name Berber as "Barbarian" and treated it as a perjorative term because they failed to subjugate them in any meaningful way, but not for a lack of trying though.
