Thursday is pozole night here in Zihuatangejo, Guerrero where the dish originated.
Pozole is a peasant soup made with either pork or chicken and hominy plus numerous sides – cheese, avocado, chicharones, (fried pork rinds) diced onions, jalapeños, radishes and fried tortilla chips. Many restaurants serve it. Our recommend choice was sold out before we arrived. We had better luck with the place we found on our own.
