Our trip began in Quito, Ecuador. Situated at 2800m the city is nestled within a valley of Andean mountain peaks with views of at least 3 snow capped volcanos. We decided to stay in the city´s old town, comprised of colonial buidings, churches and plazas-dating back to days of Spanish control.
