Hi My Dad was a hydro engineer lent to Malaya to find hydro potential out in the bush. We lived just outside Tanah Rata in a house now called TNB bungalow for two years 59/60. Attended the Convent School. Living there is every ten year old's dream. Your site is the only one that refers to the Eastern Hotel. Drop me an email and we can talk some more. Neil

Your dad found hydro potential...
at least one dam was under construction by the German construction consortium Hochteif-Holtsmann about half way between Tapah and Tanah Rata. I Googled Eastern Hotel and found the picture...if you haven't read my blog about my time in Tanah Rata, there is a link on the left side.
