On August 29th I walked into the Amsterdam Central Station at 6:30 am on the dot. Seven minutes too late for the first train to Brussels. The next train wasn’t for another hour, so I made myself cozy and pulled out my book. I was reading “The Sucker’s Kiss,” which I had started on my ride to Amsterdam.
