We booked a tour to the Colca Canyon, primarily to view the flights of the Colca condors. The trip started with difficulty. The tour told us to be ready for pickup at 5 in the morning... apparently to avoid the road blockades set up by the taxi and bus strikers on every road leading out of Arequipa.... it didn't help, we were blockaded about 10 km out of the city at about 6 AM.
