Mae Hong Son was a mistake. It was the only place on the whole of my trip that I really just didn't take to. The arrival at the bus station and the subsequent walk through the town wasn't very inspiring but when I checked into a good, cheap guesthouse next to a pleasant looking lake with a good view of Mae Hong Son's main wat, things started looking up. Before I am forced to grow up and enter the big wide world of having a career I'm heading off to travel the world (well, the SE Asia mainland to be precise) for 5 months. I'm hoping to use this site to keep friends and family updated on my progress, let them know I'm alive from time to time, share some photos with them and generally make them jealous.... full info
