I don’t think there’s enough superlatives to describe the South Island scenery so you'll find a lot of “stunning”, “beautiful” and “amazing”s in this entry! I remember when we came to NZ in 2000 thinking that whilst the S Island was lovely, it seemed to be mainly forested mountains without much variety. Well... I take it all back!
