In a country renowned for its international isolation, North Korea is equally adept at isolating foreigners visiting their nation. I have never journeyed to a country where I was kept so separated from the local populace. It looks like a regular rotary phone made in Japan by the Oki Electric Industry. I remember long long time ago most hotels had a special telephone with a red light indicator for message. :)
