A Month in the U S of A
August 26th 2009 Arriving in LA, Claire was at the airport to meet me. It was nice to spend a couple of days with her and Sam in their lovely beachfront apt. '47 to '62 every summer - 2 weeks only. Favorite moment, reading list of next day's arrivals in front of the lodge. Staff : '62. New look --Awfully crowded in Sun Sity and much more loosey-goosey atmosphere. Revisited on Old Timers' Wknds twice and had a great time. River just as cold as ever. No aquacades any longer? anyone remember Peggy Tarr's amazing 'Indian Love Call' ? Wish Sandy Beach still existed, but trees are so grown up, no sun there anymore. Small Falls is my favorite place on earth!. Fool's gold, yes!
