Yunnan Province is located in Southwest China, about as far southwest as you can go before you hit Tibet, India, or Laos. Being bordered by so many different countries has led Yunnan to gain (rightly so) the reputation of being very diverse. I am currently a junior in college and I am majoring in Chinese Language and Literature. To supplement my studies, I studied in Taiwan for 2 months in the summer of 2007. In the Spring of 2009 I will be studying in Shanghai for a semester.
