Shrine at Monte Toro

A large statue of Jesus with a smaller statue of Mary at his feet. The name Monte Toro comes form the Arabic for "highest mountain" but local legend has it the site was named for a bull (toro in Spanish) that found a statue of the Virgin in a cleft in the rock. The altar in the Church up here features a statue of the Virgin with the famous bull at her feet.
