We visited Besakih after our trip to Mount Batur. On April 9th, two days after our visit, the temple was due to have a huge celebration which only takes place every 10 years. We were lucky to see some of the worshippers bringing their offerings a little early. I quite enjoyed their "tupperware" - colorful cube-like baskets filled with food for the temple. I called this blog "13 Cities, 13 Days" because I originally set it up to chronicle my travels in India June 17-June 30, 2008. But now that I've traveled, and traveled, and traveled, and I still want to share my photos and stories, I decided to continue the blog.
