As Mom confirmed with our tour guide many times, these are legimate Swiss born and trained guards. History shows that they were hired as mercenaries when the pope couldn't trust Romans.

Day 2 of Rome was our Vatican City day. We had a tour scheduled for the Vatican Museums with Jerry in the afternoon, so we planned to spend the morning touring St. Peter's Basilica.
