Here's the big boy...

Here's the top part of the TH photo of the Pleasant Point Spike. The plant was placed over 45 years ago, and only this summer has flowered, beginning November 22. The stick next to it is the homeowner's, and is 3.9 metres, so I reckon the spike is nearly 8 metres tall. The plant flowers one summer, then slowly dies, sending out daughter plants from the base. Generally takes 30 to 80 years to flower, then just gets a feeling...the Century Plant...Jack and the Beanstalk revisited...
