There is a rock formation on top of White Rock Hills that looks like a bottle of JD on it's side, or maybe even a piggy bank. [Psychoanalysis reveals a deep need for alcohol and money...] ;-)
Le Madre Springs, hut and mines (in the snow) February 10th 2009 Tuesday 10th February 2009
Tom and I decided to hike up Le Madre Springs in the snow. We aimed to find the old hut and mines above the spring head.
Red Rock Canyon area was looking stunning as we drove in. The first part of the hike is the 1/4 of the White Rock Hills Loop, so was familiar ground to me. Then we peel off to the left and start to head up.

I had been on holidays to Europe and a bit further afield, but never done the proper 'Round the World' backpacking adventure. I started planning for that very event in 2004.
