Sunrise Lagoon Resort-the BEST
I have been to Sunrise Lagoon Resort 3 times - this speaks for its self. The people there are fabulous - facilities are basic but clean - the food is really good - not like some of the other resorts that I have been to & who charged a lot more. The beach in front of bures is lovely - if too windy the 30minute walk over the island to THE Blue Lagoon is a treat and that beach has to be one of the best in the world. Have stayed at the resort here also - loved it too but the price difference is enormous. I would really recommend Sunrise to anyone - no wonder it is so popular!! I am due to stay there for 2wks again Mid March 2010 & will rebook while I am there.

odd, I've always found it really quite a nice city. You can do a lot worse than Invercargill....try Hastings, Hamilton, or Palmerston North!

you missed the meteor showers?
After all that, you must have seen your own Persied shooting stars in each other's eyes. Thank you for sharing such a touching story. I believe in love stories. Miss you, xxxooooo Cynthia

agreed
You forgot to mention that the population of Invercargil are arrogant , and don't like outsiders. If you go into a shop you are given the impression that you are a nuisance for trying to buy stuff of them and give them money.

Supporting Author
Well........they always say that the TRUTH hurts, and in this case I have to support 100% the ''educated'' conclusions of this author. The older generation were FANTASTIC people, generous to a fault, friendly (the girls more soooo) However when the older generation passed away, it was replaced by a younger, lazy, DUMB breed of ""arse-holes'' who swear that "one plus one" is one !!!.....he, he, he!!

Egg on a Shovel
I know eggonaspade is traditional, but I do feel that eggonashovel would be acceptable given the conditions (provided it hadn't already seen 'latrine duties') :-)

Tam's 4x4 Driving School!
Shit, well done Tam!! Didn't see many make it, even the Rangers got stuck there! And coming back out to the beach, most vehicles looked close to rolling - the speed they came down and then had to turn before the water. So where do I sign up for Tam's Hardcore Driving Course? ;-)

LOL No eggs! :-(
Knew there was something I had missed off the grocery list for Fraser!! Doh! It was a shovel for digging and covering our pooh hole though - so not as hygenic as the spade I used for the egg cooking in Scotland.

Hardcore Indian Head
I had to drive into Indian Head when we were there, I stuck it in to low second and gunned it all the way, it was the most hardcore/scary driving I've ever had to do. When we got there a guy in our group trod in a human turd in his bare feet, very funny because he was a t**t!

Shovels?
ooh - shovel ball... did you not have egg on a spade? The potential of shovels (or spades) is really understimated...

LOL Doh!!
It was advertised in the flyer at the airport as "G'Day hostel" - until we got to the front door - trying to shake off the bad reviews probably...
