Another successful overseas trip with Folkids. No loss of personel, no lasting illness, and a good time was had by all. We still need to do some more fund raising and then we start working on our next trip overseas, possibly Korea. You can keep updated by going to Tom MacKenzie's site. Folkids of Vermont is a group based in Burlington,Vermont that performs traditional New England dances and songs. Each new group of 10-17 year olds learns dances that were popular in Vermont in the late 1800s and then performs them to audiences around the region. At the end of a session, which lasts about a year, we travel overseas to spend two to three weeks in another country sharing our dances and songs with them.
