I was born June 24, 1947, St. Jean Baptiste Day, in Marssum, Friesland, the Netherlands. I moved to America in 1952 because my parents went to Cleveland, Ohio, and it was tough to get a job at age five. My CV was not as long then as it is now. I am currently in Seoul, Korea, but I work in Guelph, Ontario. Since my name is so common in the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa and Norway, I (unofficially) added the "van Guelph" to make it clear that I am from the city of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
