Simple and practical, this was the one time I thought I'd join the annoying people to get one flash photo of the place, momentarily killing any chance you have of seeing the volcano

Tim version: * Bused it to La Fortuna and Volcan Arenal. * Watched a night time spectacular of an active volcano shooting lava and rocks down the side of its slope.
