The Pineapple Fountain

During earlier times, pineapples where seen as a symbol of prosperity and welcoming. If a soldier came home from war, a pineapple would be displayed on the front fence to inform people they were welcome to visit.

We took the Amtrak train to Charleston and unfortunately our host fell through so we booked ourselves into the Notso Hostel for the two nights.
