Devil's Tower, Wyoming
June 12th 2008 Thursday, June 5, 2008 we departed Deadwood, South Dakota and arrived at Devil's Tower, Wyoming, which was proclaimed by President Theodore Roosevelt as America's first national monument on September 24, 1906 and rises 1,267 feet above the Belle Fourche River (named by French fur trappers in the 1700s and means "pretty fork river").
