Sultanahmet from Courtyard

A great shot from the large courtyard of Sultanahmet, looking up towards the distinctive domes. Ayasofia had one dome, and then two smaller half-domes on opposite sides. Classical Ottoman architecture, examples of which are to be found here, as well as the Fatih Mosque, added two more domes, and created an even larger open space in the interior.

I finally got out to see Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque today.
