We landed in Kuala Lumpur and my friend from college, Kim, met us at the train station. She has been working at various spots around the world since we graduated; initially she was in KL and is presently in Jakarta. Kyle and Darren Bernard
I quit my cushy job in health care software in January of 2008 and hit the road with my younger brother Darren (the one on the left of the photo). We had plane tickets to South East Asia and not much of a plan beyond that. It turned into one of the best years of my life. And, as a result of this blog, I convinced many of my friends to leave their uninspiring jobs and travel as well! Currently I'm back in the Midwestern United States studying to be a physician.
