The man with his slingshot around the neck, always ready if he should see some small edible animal. In his right hand, a countryside trademark, the transistor-radio. He's the only one wearing shoes in the family. The woman, with the typical scarification on the chest that the women around Mount Gorongosa has, does not need any shoes, it's been decided by the man. Of course the children don't need any shoes; they're the lowest in the African hierarchy and are expected to be thankful for whatever left-over they are given to wear.
