Maki, one of my students, is a Japanese animation artist. She created a card with Jessie in animation form -- a very thoughtful gift.

Jessie celebrated her birthday on the 29th, and what could have become a sad reminder of her being away from her family and friends turned out to be a wonderful experience and further proof that we are making some great friends here in Japan.
