Thursday 4th October - This morning I left Thung Fon and called in to the Openmind volunteer house and saw Nic and a couple of other and then it was by tuk tuk driver to the border and had to wait in a long queue at Immigration and then it was on a bus to the next Immigration stop and then another bus into Vientiane. I am a "young" traveller from just outside of Canberra, the capital of Australia and have just recently retired. For the past several years I wanted to do some volunteer work in orphanages in Vietnam and this "dream" came true for me in 2006 and I returned again in 2007 to Vietnam and Thailand. It was a very rewarding and enriching time of my life. I enjoy travelling and have been to Fiji, China twice, New Zealand three times, some parts of America, Cambodia and Laos.
