Looking into the first cenote from above

Today I went on a trip organised by my hostel to see some Cenotes (sen-oh-tays) which are sink holes that are found in loads of places on the Yucatan Peninsular. The guide only spoke in Spanish, but I think he said that they were created years ago (maybe 2000? maybe not!) when there was a meteor crash. However, this may be completely wrong! Hiya! I'm leaving on August the 20th to hopefully find some sun, see some sights, make new friends, eat some yummy food, learn a bit of Spanish and have lots of adventures along the way. My itinery at the moment (obviously subject to change!) is to spend 10 months travelling through Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
