I met up with Maggie and Kate fellow SEASSI students and anthropologist in Hanoi and we agreed to visit Bat Trang, a famous pottery village south of Hanoi. Hi this is Richard and Beth. Beth and I will be traveling to Viet Nam this summer to sightsee. We plan to explore the coast of Viet Nam starting in Hanoi and finishing up in Ho Chi Minh City. I will then travel alone to the Northwest Highlands for a potential research site. I will be looking to for a village commune that uses forest products and grows various crops such as coffee, pepper, rice, maize, and fish ponds.
