Koh Samui/Phuket- twin errors of judgement

Well well, it seems that I made my first travel blunder by visiting the totally overdeveloped and tourist contaminated trashy island of Koh Samui (in the Gulf of Thailand), where everyone outside every shop is trying to sell cheap suits, clothes, taxi services and whatever else. I've been all round the show: started in Bali, travelled up Indo to Malaysia and Thailand, ran to Germany then spent time in the Netherlands, Belgium, Belize and France. Caught up with a mate Dan, went to Spain together and brought bikes in Seville. We then rode along the southern Spainish coastline then crossed over to Morocco where we spent a month cyling around.
