Kyoto Station

Maybe the most architecturally interesting train station I have seen. I read an interesting sign about the design of the station. I can't remember all of the details, but it talked about how the designers created a matrix type of structure. The idea of the matrix originated I think in the renaissance era it said. The matrix was symbolic of a "womb." The designer's of Kyoto station envisioned it serving as a womb for the people coming to and leaving Kyoto. The called the station a starting point from which the people coming and doing share various life experiences. I thought it was pretty deep for a train station.

Got lucky and had a three day weekend this past weekend 😊!!! Much better than the past three weeks where I have had only one day weekends because of shift swaps.
