Wooden pulpit in Antwerp Cathedral. Made by Michiel I van der Voort in 1713 for St. Bernard's Abby, Hemiksem. Acquired by the cathedral in 1803. "The Pulpit, with its trees and birds carved in wood, is by M. van der Voort (1713)."--Baedeker 1910. DSC_0125

Monarch Empress spent the morning sailing through inland waterways in the Netherlands. Shortly after we crossed the Belgian border, the Boudewijnsluis lock carried the vessel into the River Schledt just above Antwerp.
