The Q'ero are Q'ero

The people of Japu are part of the Q'ero Nation. Most Q'ero men are shamans, following traditions passed down through the generations from Inca times. The Q'ero refused contact with the outside, modern world until the 1990s, which allowed them to keep their culture, traditions and language more intact than others in the Cusco region.
