Comments:

We had a beautiful sail today. In the afternoon the wind changed. We left behind the rolling following seas and the grey squalls that drenched those on watch The sun came out and we set the sails close hauled, volpaia gentlly heeled to starbord and off we went. I have never sailed on a boat that goes to weather as beautifully and easily as Volpaia. I believe it could be her favorite tack. This afternoon on my watch, the helm was so balanced and easy to steer, a marked contrast to the difficult, rolling conditions that we have been laboring through off and one since setting out over a week ago. This afternoon was a chance for every one to make up for lost sleep. Sleeping last night was the worst, with the roll swinging you from side to side in your bunk plus the steamy heat from having every hatch and portlight closed because of the rainy conditions, the inside of the boat was like a sauna. But today was beautiful. Memories of last night make it even better. ~Liz
