Seaday Waffle
Breakfast at the Garden Cafe, Norwegian Dawn: Waffle, link sausage, hash brown potatoes.
P1180769 Norwegian Dawn was making a faster headway on the return to New York. Thus, we would have one day at sea going back rather than two.
This was September 11 and so a Moment of Silence was observed for 9/11. At 11:00 a.m. the ship's whistle was sounded.
Susan and I played Movie Quote Trivia in Spinnaker Lounge. We liked that trivia the best. Things were happening in the Atlantic: a Waterspout was spotted and the eastbound tanker
British Serenity passed nearby. There was a third Art Seminar, this one on The Living Masters. The artists described were Yaacouv Agam, Romero Britto, and Peter Max. I'd heard of Peter Max and seen some of his work in museums. I had not heard of the other two. Agam has been active for decades and is known for his optical and kinetic art. Britto is a Brazilian artist who incorporates images and colors from Brazil in his pop art. (There was even a Britto painting of Norwegian Dawn on board.) The afternoon found more Trivia in the Pearly King's Club.
The last night at sea began with a great sunset over the Atlantic. That evening, the production company presented their
Waterspout
Waterspout in the Atlantic.
P1180772p1 best show of the cruise:
Bollywood. As the name implies, the production show based its colorful costumes and music and dance styles on Indian Bollywood films. There were spectacular aerial dances as well, beginning with the opening sequence in which a dancer swung himself over the audience!. What could follow that? The Captain, officers, and crew came out on stage to bid farewell. Susan and I had made a reservation for dinner at Le Bistro, one of the several extra-charge specialty restaurants on board. Susan had Lobster Tail while I had Grilled Beef Tenderloin. It was very nice, but I have to say, not as nice as the dining experience we had at David's on Carnival Pride in March. The Tzigane jazz unit was at it again in the Grand Atrium later in the evening. All three female soloists joined them as the rocked out to pop standards like
Disco Inferno. The Tizgane musicians who were not playing were rocking out below them in the Java Cafe. They finished on the Grand Atrium at 10:00 p.m. and moved on to the Pearly King's Club.
