Edit Blog Post

Lazy day spent swimming and reading yesterday in Port Headland with usual shopping needs calling. Coffee will have to give it away, so expensive in this part of the world. Chatting to locals on the caravan site very interesting they are paying $2200.00 per week for a 2 bedroom unit on site, amazing. Other guys on FIFO work on the tugs rotating 4weeks on 4 weeks off just fascinating. Other people we have met are just cruisng around picking up work at all the various places they stop and they are not young Once again the road between Port Headland and Karratha very flat boring and hot. The only interest was the 1.5km long trains we saw carrying ore from Newman to Port Headland and shipping out. The track is owned and maintained by BHP and to see the infrastructure is awsome. In Kays words she is Gobsmaked by it all. Maybe a couple of days here in Karratha have to get some running repairs to the jockey wheel on the caravan on jacking up the van at lunch time it sheered of the main frame drawbar and the front of the van just collapsed. Lucky I had a hydraulic jack to lift it up and get the legs down to support the van. Now got to track down someone who can re-weld the jockey plate back on Time will be well spent washing the van and car and ridding them both of the prolific red dust that has got into everything All the fun of travelling the countryside with the travelling nomads Keep safe everyone A&K PS sorry no photos today

Happy Travellers
Very interesting commentary. Keith remembers it from 30 years ago. Sounds like dramatic changes. Glad to hear you' re enjoying despite the odd jockey wheel mishap. Very hot here in Adelaide, no rain. Love M & K
