Eating like kings. hooray for pies!
Hey folks, first of all a big apology on the lack of blogging, sorry dont mean to worry anyone and will get some more photos on soon to make up for it. And secondly i miss you marc! is really quite strange without you here, hurrah to meeting up again in the south. I'd just like to emphasise that all is great in the marc and claire camp, we will definately be reunited for more adventures before too long.

So as marc said i'm working a wonderful job for no money, actually i'm working in a hostel in return for free board. my nickname is now 'scrubber' although i have now progressed on to making the poshest beds, bet you're proud mum! The main attraction to here is that i'm staying in one place instead of moving around all the time, a recharging of the travelling batteries you might say. Marc and i had some great times here, one of the highlights being a night spent down on the beach with a big fire, beers all round and marc playing some classic tunes in the guitar inspiring everyone to sing their hearts out. My days entertainment depends on who

Not letting a full liqour and fire ban stop us from drinking and setting fire to things.hurrah to rebellion!
books into the hostel and how mischievious they are, and the local nightlife consists of one club called the lighthouse which i managed to frequent three nights in a row last week, highlight being winning a singing competiton....a duo with mel of 'sweet child of mine' which won us a round of whiskey (seems to be my lucky drink!). My days are spent cleaning for two hours in the morning, then walking the 70 meters down to the beach, going for a long but lazy swim and then drinking numerous cups of tea before finding some enterainment for the evening. Tis a good life eh.

The plan is to stay here for another couple of weeks, then if i can remember how to move i'll ship out down south and meet up with young marc to travel around the south island. After living in this tiny place for a few weeks i'll be more than ready to get my travelling boots on and not make a bed again for a long long LONG time. Right my eyes are going square from staring at the screen now so i shall say goodbye for now, love claire xxx

ps marc i know you'll find this funny, i found out that when people turn up and jake doesnt want them to stay in the hostel (this is not a party hostel) he makes it look like there are no beds by writing 'badger' in all the spaces in the book!!! No joke! will try and get a picture to prove it!
