we had intended to stay a few days but the weather had got quite bad again so we decided to try and get an earlier crossing back north,we went into the montana winery which i believe is the biggest in nz and had a few tasters and then had to crack on. we had to blag our way onto the ferry as we had already changed the time of the crossing once and they wouldnt allow another so we manged to get a 2.00 pm crossing and made our way up as far as we could before we bedded down, we manged to get to levin where we stopped for the night
