These are books written by kids in the Tarras School about a sheep that eluded the shepherd for six years when he came to round the sheep up to take them in from the higher pastures (actually cliff-like areas) for shearing and for the winter. You can see a photo of him here when he was finally brought to justice. He has become a celebrity here, and does benefits for charitable causes...I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!

Lake Tekapo, the turquoise lake, near the CotGS. Last time we were here, there were a number of piles of stones (cairns)...an earthquake, wind, vandals...random tourists against stacking stuff???
