Friday 19th November: Off again! and back on highway 6 heading south for Queenstown. You don't need a satnav in south New Zealand as there are very few major roads, you can drive from one end of the country and stay on the same road. We've got another busy driving day stopping periodically to just take in the wonderful scenery of water falls, rivers and mountain ranges. Just amazing views everywhere. We briefly stopped at Haast. Haast is a tiny community on the coast where the broad Haast river meets the sea with winding narrow passes. It is little more than a stop-off and supply point for people travelling between the west coast and the southern lakes. After passing through Haast we found our second conservation camp site ''Boundry Creek'' a scenic reserve along side lake Wanaka near Snug Bay. As I may have said before, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself. These sites have very few facilities except for running water to fill your tank and dump facilities for getting rid of waste/toilet. They are always in very picturesque areas. There is a container which holds envelopes asking for a small fee, then you pop the money into the envelope with you name and comments then put it into a letterbox. As all the motorhomes are equipt with all mod-coms your don't need anything else.
