Day 2 of our stay in Queenstown. A lazy Saturday with a bacon sarni, a shower, catching up with the washing and no particular rush. In the afternoon we walked into Queenstown and found the Queenstown gardens which were beautiful. Oak trees in autumn plumage and silver birch with willow. It was a lovely walk with ducks in ponds and the mountains as the backdrop.

We then went to the waterside and there was a craft market with people playing music and setting a lovely scene. We had a late lunch by the waterside.

The exhausting pace caught up with us so we chilled out in Bertie and sat round reading. Planning a few miles tomorrow up the west coast which looks a scenic drive towards the Franz Joseph glacier.

The evening was rounded off in the communal kitchen where a whole mix of people cook their evening meals and a bit of banter is exchanged. We teamed up with a couple from Appleby and ending up having a few bottles of wine and a good laugh.

Bed by 2330 hours.
