Queenstown is the bigger sister of Wanaka, and is not even referred to as a town, but as a resort. It is the extreme sport centre of the world, most probably, and is where you can skydive, bungy jump and do all manner of things that might actually kill you. It is situated in the beautiful Remarkables mountain range, again which turns into a hotbed of skiing and snow sports in the winter. It is also a centre of cool bars where backpackers in their droves hang out and get exceedingly drunk. So I just had to join in. And with a very very large hangover I departed the lovely Queenstown for a four day trip along the very bottom of NZ.
