Spent first full day here resting. We rested by walking all over town, eating some good food, climbing a big hill overlooking the area and walking among some million-dollar homes ($NZ or $US either way that's some serious money). Lots of new construction and development going on here. No appearance of recession here.
Enjoyed some really nice pub food for lunch at The Speights Ale House (http://www.queenstown-nz.co.nz/information/product/?product=the-speights-ale-house) where we got to see a little Monday Night Football live on Tuesday afternoon.
Finished the evening with a marvelous meal at Botswana Butchery (http://www.goodbars.co.nz/Botswana/BotswanaQueenstown/tabid/84/Default.aspx) where we had a cracking good meal by a crackling warm fire on a cold night. The Kiwi folk are as nice and friendly a people as anyone could wish for. Smiles, kind words and fantastic attitudes are normal behavior here. What a concept!
We head to Fox Glacier Wednesday morning, and if the weather cooperates, we'll take a helicopter some distance up the glacier and take a guided hike back down. Should make for some interesting stories and photos.

NZ is beautiful
It's a pleasure to follow your blog, Brad. The pictures are beautiful, and it looks like you guys are having a great time. Hope the weather cooperates for the glacier hike. The picture of you standing by the old boat is too classic. Enjoy!
