First full day in Q'town; itinerary revealed

Queenstown
5:30 a.m., Tuesday, 9/22

Arrived to beautiful weather just after noon Monday ... picked up rental car at airport and proceeded to frighten half the drivers in town, turn on wipers while trying signal turns and, generally, put our wedding vows to a stiff test. Fifteen minutes we arrived at the hotel where we drove up into a steep driveway thinking it was the way to the car park area. It was a loading dock. More marital tension, but we keep passing all those tests! (BTW, $9NZ daily to park the car @ the hotel.)

The plan was to get some lunch and walk around the quaint little harbor front of Q'town. During lunch, rains came and stayed on a bit, so we decided to get a little nap time in before seeing if the rain would end. Six hours later, we woke up in a time travel stupor and decided to stay in.

Anita has planned the following activities for us: hiking the Fox Glacier, one of two glaciers nearby that both have their terminus in a rainforest! We're also going to take an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound--so named by Capt. Cook 240+ years ago when sailing by it. He told his sailors that if they went in it was doubtful that they could make it out. There are other things I'll put on here as they happen.

So far, the only photos I have are stills taken from a Flip camcorder. A couple are going up now.
