arrived into picton on the ferry around mid day, found a hostel and booked in for 2 nights and then set about town checking out what picton had to offer, not alot is the answer so i walked around for a while before heading back to the hostel for what i thought would be a quiet night. when i got back to the hostel there was another guy in the room who had gotten the ferry after the one i got. we started having a chat and were getting on alright. i went and made some dinner and then sat outside and ate it as it was a really nice night. around 10 minuites after i had finihed eating the guy i had spoke to came outside with his guitar and sat at the same table as me and we carried on talking and then after a while we decided it would be a good idea to go an get a few cans and bring them back to the hostel we did just that and then after a while he started playing his guitar and it wa actually impressive how good he was and after about 20 minuites there was about 30 people sat outside listening to him and then a few other people played and it turned out to be a really nice night just sat outside listening to people play the guitar and ocassionaly singing along.

the following day me and the guy with the guitar, either he hadnt told me his name or i couldnt remember it but i think it was the same for him aswell, walked into town and had a coffee and some food and a short walk around and he was telling me how he was trying to get a record deal and how he had been quite close on one occasion, he also told me he was playing at glastonbury this year. you never can tell if people are telling the truth or lying with some stuff but i kind of do believe him cos he was really good, but thats why it really annoying that i dont know his name. that evening i went out to watch the rugby and met a guy from bradford and we got talking to "AB" a quite old maori bloke who had been working behind the bar but after he finished came and stood with us and we had a nice chat which resulted in a lock in the bar we were in. still no 100% what time it was when i got back to the hostel but a good night was had never the less and my bus wasnt til 1215 the next day which was a welcome change from the usual early morning ones
