On the way to Franz Josef we stopped at the Bushman centre. This involved a video of people hunting deers and jumping on them out of helicopters, and a look at some animals including a deer with some quite impressive antlers.

The first full day in Franz Josef we went ice climbing on the glacier. This was really great fun. We got to walk up the glacier until we hit two separate locations to do ice climbing. The climbing was quite difficult but we both really enjoyed and by the end of it were quite tired.

The next day we went kayaking on lake Mapourika. This was also excellent as it involved kayaking all the way across the lake and then down a gorgeous little creek to some trees that apparently influenced Peter Jackson when making the Ents. After this we kayaked back across the lake and made it back just before it started raining.
