As you know I've been in Sydney Australia, well North Rocks, for nearly four weeks and I'm now getting ready to venture home to the snow. So I must finish this blog before I leave!
Wednesday 23rd Nov: Heading to Christchurch along the narrow winding pass of Banks Peninsula which brought us high above Christchurch. We stopped when we reached the plateau and looked down to the city of Christchurch which was recovering from the September earthquake. The view was spectacular but what amazed us most was the people, young and old, cycling up this mountain pass. as we sat and had a coffee at the highest cafe. Once revived we set off down toward the city and to spend the day site seeing with all the other tourists. We later drove out towards the airport and to find our last resting place before we fly to Australia Thursday morning. We found a lovely motorhome park not far from the airport. We finally felt that our New Zealand adventure was over. Now ready to plan for the next time!
