Our last few days in New Zealand offered pleanty of adventure and exploring. On our way out of Blenheim we stopped at Highfield Estate Winery. They are situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and numerous other wineries. They had a lookout tower that we were able to enjoy the view before we had a wine tasting. Luckily for us it was their off-season so we had the place all to ourselves. They told us during their busy time the tasting room is packed and you have to wait quite awhile. In this Marlborough region they make mostly white wines and they had a pinot noir. I found a sauvigion blanc that I throughly enjoyed. It had many layers to it with various citrus flavors. Mom - we bought a bottle for you 😊.

After that, we made our way to Christchurch and enjoyed many gorgeous views. The road winded around mountains and the ocean and we had to stop multiple times because the views took our breaths away. Instead of deer crossing signs they had seal ones and amazing beaches with snowcapped mountains in the background. We also stopped at another winery along the way, again a gorgeous view, this one overlooked the ocean with a mountain in the background. They had whites again with one pinot noir and also an desert beverage similar to Bailey's but instead of being made with whisky they used wine - I had to buy a bottle of that as well. 😊

Once in Christchurch we were exhausted but the next day we explored the town. Visited a Botanic Garden and many shops. At night we went to dinner and ran into many people from Sydney in town to support their Waratah's a rugby team in the final championship match. We met quite the variety of people, the CEO of Australia's AAA and his son, a fellow from England, and other hard core fans. The rugby match was a first for both Michelle and I and we enjoyed it throughly. The fans are like the ones in the states however they are polite for the opposing fans. It was a great way to end our trip in New Zealand!

I wish we could have stayed longer, but hopefully I will go back during a break in my internship. I have already been looking through snowboarding packages in Queenstown. 😊 I am now in Cairns, Australia and will continue onto Sydney come the weekend. Hope all is well in the states and I would love to hear how things are!

Hugs and Love from Cairns!

We saw part of the free hug campaign (there is a video on YouTube i believe) in Christchurch. Unfortunately, neither Michelle or I received one. :(

The bars entry was a creepy ally but then all the bars were open to each other - it was quite neat.
