Day 2 - Guy Fawkes Day

woo hoo! guys fawkes day. honestly, if i hadn't seen "v for vendetta" i wouldn't know what was going on. there are fireworks for sale everywhere. apparently, the fire department wants to ban them for private sale. too many accidents over the past few nights...

we toured around the city centre of christchurch. it's quite touristy, and reminds me of a cross between hawaii and ireland. only the locals have a thick accent with peculiar phrases...

stopped for fish'n'chips for a late lunch at the chruch square, where a group of seagulls eagerly approached us for some chips.

there's a canal that runs in a loop around the city centre. you can take a "punting" tour of the canal or even rent little kayaks.

oh, and i found coke in 2.25L bottles! i'm a happy man...
